PMWiki

I'm considering converting the wiki from MediaWiki to PMWiki. The main reason for doing this is ease of backup. Also, there's just too danged many features on Mediawiki that I'm not using. I'm imagining that by using a flat-file system, it'd be much more portable. Thoughts? joat: 09:32:46 24 Oct 2009

Wiki spam update

To be honest about it, there hasn't been a whole lot of spam showing up in the wiki comments. Is this something that's no longer done much? What spam did show up was caught by Akismet and auto-expired. I've not had to do much other than approve legitimate comments. joat: 06:38:15 3 Mar 2009

Wiki Spam

[*Sigh*] Wiki comments weren't turned on but for one hour and already the spammers are testing the feature. I've just realized that Akismet could suddenly demand $20 from each of their users and they'd probably get it (just to keep things like spam for "anime family sex" off of their blogs/wikis). In any case, I've updated the code behind the wiki and have added a number of features. Adding default content to new wiki pages

Magic quotes and MediaWiki

I went to upgrade the wiki so that I could play with some of the newer extensions. Problem was, the old trick of adding "set_magic_quotes_runtime(0);" to the index file wasn't working. However, thanks to this page (sorry, I don't read Russian), I have the new work-around.For those interested, add the following as the second line in index.php: "ini_set('magic_quotes_runtime',0);".
