The following is information on projects that have been completed in
the past, are being worked on, or are shelved.
Don't ask when. Ask why. * NOTICE * This page is severely depreciated in many aspects. Please refer to the Wiki for new project information (wiki.757.org). In addition, discussion can be found on www.HRGeeks.com. |
| Real Information | |
| Kodak Disc Transporter | Information on the Kodak Disc Transporter. Probably the
best resource on the net. Intermingled with ramblings of a
web based job management project are the technical details
needed (Scsi commands, CDB, Linux, Unix, FreeBSD, IRIX).
Update: We now have all the API and command information! |
| Christmas 2000 | Information and pictures from the outdoor Christmas light
project of the year 2000. Lots of Christmas lights controlled
by a computer system that was internet connected.
|
| Christmas 1999 | Pictures and description of the first year of the internet
connected Christmas lights. |
| Merlin Robot | Information and a video of Ken's American Robot Merlin Robot.
Ken is working on a free unix support to drive a Merlin
Industrial robot. |
| The 757 RC5 Team | The SeVA distributed.net RC5 team..
Old information about our distributed.net RC5 efforts.
|
| Lasers.757.org | This project is a public site with information, messages boards
and software links for laser light show related topics. It is
possible that in the future the site may be used for distribution
of two different locally developed hobbyist/semi-pro software
packages. Both drive parallel port DAC circuits from Windows.
One is a complete show package (midi control, abstracts, beam
effects, TTL output, ILDA file support). The second is a WinAMP
plugin. For more information consult the Lasers.757.org site.

| In progress.... | |
| SMDR software | Will this idea ever develop? A Perl script to take data from
a phone system's SMDR port and log all the information into a database,
or analyze the data from a capture log. This would give the ability to
put stats and graphs on a web page coming from your companies business
phone system. |
| Light Controller | An ongoing project for a PC based show controller. ISA interface
plus rackmount breakout handles many analog light channels,
strobe channels, laser beam effects and more. Complete details
will be included. Software and hardware will probably be relased
for free... as long as were invited to the party! ** UPDATE January 2002, I finished a MIDI to TTL C program that runs on FreeBSD, but ditched all of the effort in favor of preprogrammed PICs that do the same functions. Why reinvent the wheel? I will post the source code here later. It uses the noteon/noteoff commands to drive 8 pins on the parallel port. I also tried using modulation wheel settings to drive the MiniSSC R/C car servo controller. Didn't work. -- Ethan |
| TERMINATED | |
| Codeline VMBS | Helix has new breakthrus in the quest for Dialogic
Voice mail software. Expect more information shortly.
Final could include faxback, pager notification, and
a ThugLife prompt set. Did I mention a VoiceBBS?
(Status: Postponed) ** UPDATE January 2002. The code for CodeLine has been recycled and hacked into running a Dial-A-Joke system. So the code will not go to waste. The system isn't public yet but we expect the best from this DOS workhorse. ** UPDATE August 2004. I never did get another phone line and would probably go with a Linux vgetty solution right now. Ian has shown interest in helping to make this project a reality, so many in the future I will pursue a cheap analog pair to run a dial-a-joke. |
| 757 Free Net | THE online resource for Southeastern Virgina.
Merged into hamptonroads.org / yohamptonroads.com and
Tidewaterconnect.com Update - all are gone, HRConnect.com is the winner. |
| CellTrack | Since the FCC ruled its illegal to manufacture scanners which can
receive cellular frequencies, or sell scanners that are easily
modifiable to receive cellular frequencies, its time to take action.
Plans are for a interface for Motorola Flip, Bag, and Brick
phones. Features include scanning, following channel handoffs,
and plotting information about the local cell. After all, its
trivial to monitor cellular calls with any older motorola phone.
Why not make it a little more.. automated? (Status:Dead. The world
went digital). |
